Do you only remember God when you need Him? Well, that’s good news because we need God in our whole life. We need God in our peak and downfall, in our blessings and lessons. This means that we should remember God all the time. We should remember God in our simplest days –  when we wake up before we start our day, and after we wrap up our day. We should also remember God when He answers our prayers and showers us with blessings, for this was made happen because of His power and love for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. We should also remember God in our most painful days because He is our fortress and shelter. In Him we can find rest and protection, In His character we find confidence. “For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” Psalm 27:5

Most of the time, we only remember God when we face problems. Most of us think that He is our last resort. We sometimes blame Him for the problems that made us suffer. However, in Psalm 3, David showed us how his faith was not shaken even if his life was being threatened. This gives us light that even with the pain from the past, present struggles, and wearies from the future, we should still declare the character of God in our life. God is our shield from our enemies, God is our provider, and our salvation.

Lord, how many are my foes!

How many rise up against me!

Many are saying of me,

“God will not deliver him.”

But you, Lord, are a shield around me,

my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

I call out to the Lord,

and he answers me from his holy mountain.

I lie down and sleep;

I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.

I will not fear though tens of thousands

assail me on every side.

Arise, Lord!

Deliver me, my God!

Strike all my enemies on the jaw;

break the teeth of the wicked.

From the Lord comes deliverance.

May your blessing be on your people.

Psalm 3
