In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus – Romans 6:11
Black Saturday is the time between Good Friday – Jesus’ crucifixion and Easter Sunday – Jesus’ resurrection. Black Saturday isn’t just a day to wait for Jesus’ coming, it is a time to reflect, meditate, and commemorate what Jesus did for us. We must keep in mind that we are no longer slaves to sin and that we are a new creation having a new life. “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be. slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.” (Romans 6:5-7)
With a new life we start anew – Salvation, with a new master – Jesus Christ, building new relationships and starting a new mission.
As we wait for Christ coming, let us use this time to pray and submit to His Lordship in every area of our life.
PRAYER
Father, we recognize the significance of Holy Saturday for the Easter season. It is not merely a day between Good Friday and Easter, but it is a day to observe in consecration of what You did for us. We leave our own agendas, our own desires, and our own pleas at the door and crave today to be still and rest in Your presence. We are so grateful for the ability to quiet our hearts and stand in Your presence, we want to come to know Your heart more this day. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus to die for us, and thank You that You kept Your promise that Easter Sunday. Let us not be so hurried in our own lives that we forget the glory that You brought forth that day.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. (crosswalk.com Cally Logan ,2021)
