They wrapped their arms around me and I felt I was home.

I did not know what came into my head why I watched this movie about raging wars between vampires and lycans. But one thing for sure, there will always be a valuable lesson that will keep me unhanging.

Underworld: Evolution was still one of my favorite movies ever since I was a little kid. Cinematography was perfectly balanced. Acting skills were superb. The storyline flowed with mixed emotions and secrets were unraveled shockingly. I am not going to discuss about how the movie went through. But I am going to discuss about the parts or highlights that gave me a “pinpoint”.

First, Selene and Michael are an epitome of unconditional love.  Both of them are risk takers. Whatever bad things happen to them, they have each other’s shoulders to lean on. Their fighting spirits are also stronger than I could possibly imagine because they can defeat their enemies furiously. It is not how strong they defeat their enemies but their bond of relationship. Just like my parents.

Second, how protective Michael was. One of the vampires’ weaknesses is sunlight and/or stake to heart. When Selene was driving, the sun was setting up and Michael told her to get down. Selene’s hand was slightly burned out. Michael then became the driver. He drove off to an abandoned place. In there, Michael did the best way he can by splashing paint to the windows to protect Selene from the sunlight. Surprisingly, Selene’s hand already healed itself. The beauty of being a vampire. Kidding aside.

Lastly, the father of Marcus still loved him even Marcus turned on the bad side. Fast backward. I was on the verge of not firming my decisions very well. After recognition of Grade 11, I took a summer class so that I can become a regular student with a strand General Academic Strand for the upcoming Grade 12. Trust me, I never had the valid reasons why I chose Accountancy, Business , and Management. Until such time , I wanted to pursue what my mind and heart was telling. You might be wondering why what was the connection of Marcus being evil and me. The bottom-line here is that no matter what my decisions will be – my parents will always be there to clarify and above all, a supporting system. It was just that I was confused of what I needed to become.

Unconditional love. Protectiveness. Supportiveness. My parents are the palace of my heart. Until now, my parents wrap their arms around me and I always feel at home. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you (Exodus 20:12). When was the last time you said “I love you” to your parents? In these times, it’s best to spend some time with them. Unlike vampires, we are not going to live in this world forever! That is why we must take every chance to show our parents how much we value them in every way possible.
